You write many editorial articles for your website or blog and you want to know if it is well optimized for SEO?

One of the features of SmartKeyword allows you to know!

Indeed, once your article is written, you can test your text and its optimization directly in the SmartKeyword tool.

Go to the "Content" section of the action plan :

As a reminder, if you don't know how to access the action plan, you can read this article.

Once you are on the right screen, make sure that the keyword you are working on is assigned to the correct page simply because the optimization proposals will be based on that page. More info on this point in this article.

Good to know:

You don't need to have a page associated with the keyword to test your content! You just won't have a starting score.

Indeed, when a page is associated with a keyword, you will have direct access to a note on the relevance of your content on the associated page, on the length of this content and finally on the quality of your H1 tag.

According to this, you will also have access to semantic recommendations to add keyword occurrences or expressions.

We have implemented an internal algorithm that allows us to analyze the Google SERP. It is from this information that we can recommend text optimization options for you.

Ratings:

Content relevance: score based on relevant keywords and their number of occurrences in the text. The higher the score, the more optimized your content is.

Content length: score based on the length of the first 20 results of the SERP. To have an optimal score, the size of your content must be greater than the median.

If you want to know the median, you can access it through the recommendations at the bottom of the screen:

H1 quality: the score is based on several things:

  • the length of the tag

  • the presence or not of the main keyword in the tag

  • whether the keyword is placed at the beginning of the sentence or not

The test:

Just paste your text in the part provided for this purpose and click on "test the content".

To also test your H1 tag, you need to select the corresponding phrase/expression and put it in "H1" format like this:

Then, The tool gives you a series of recommendations for your text.

  • The notes are updated

You can have additional alerts on the H1 tag

On the right side of the screen you have a list of recommended keywords with the number of occurrences in the text, the minimum/maximum occurrences recommended for this text, as well as alerts when a keyword is over-optimized.

If the keyword is in green: it is present in the text.

  • If there is the icon❗️ it means that there are too many occurences of the keyword in which can lead to over-optimization of your content. Therefore, we advise you to remove some occurrences of the term.

If the keyword is in gray, it means that it does not appear in your text. You should think about adding it.

WARNING: Do not forget that these are only algorithmic indications: use common sense!

There will surely be some keywords that will not be relevant because we recover the total content of the page (menu, internal linking, footer ...). So you don't necessarily have to take them into account.

Good to know: the words are sorted by descending importance. The first keywords in the list are the most important to place in your text for optimal optimization.

  • Phrases based on People Also Ask (learn more here) and related searches to help you strengthen the semantics of your text

You can try to use these groups of keywords in your text to make it even more optimized for SEO.

If you want to export these keywords and phrases, please refer to this article.

Tag recommendations and structure :

Finally, at the bottom of this screen, you will have additional recommendations on the H1 tag, on the H1-Hn structure of your content and finally the size (see what we said earlier)!

As for the size, you will have access to the details of the H1 tags and the structure of the first 10 competitors of the SERP for inspiration:
