Understanding your netlinking in SmartKeyword

SmartKeyword offers you a way to track your Netlinking data to help you improve your SEO performance.

Netlinking in SmartKeyword

Many data sets are to be taken into account when talking about Netlinking: Domain Authority, the number of referring domains, the Trust Flow and Citation Flow, etc.

These data sets are calculated and retrieved from the Moz and Majestic tools, two world leaders in the field of netlinking, which, thanks to their crawler are responsible for finding all the information necessary to analyze your backlinks.

You can find this data in the tab "Reporting > Netlinking".

The Domain Authority (DA)

This is a score given by Moz, ranging from 1 to 100. The higher the DA, the stronger the domain authority, meaning that the website has a "good" reputation with Google.

In the graph below you can follow the evolution of this score over time.

Referring domains:

Next to the DA, you have the number of referring domains. This data is calculated by the Majestic tool. It is the number of websites that have made an external link to your site. It is generally correlated with the DA which means that the more referring domains you have, the better.

As for the DA, you can follow the evolution of your referring domains in a graph.

Trust Flow & Citation Flow

On the right side of the screen, you have the Trust Flow (TF), the Citation Flow (CF) and the TF/CF ratio.

The Trust Flow is a data calculated by Majestic. It is an indicator that allows you to know the quality of the backlinks that your site receives. It measures the "trust" that we have towards this site.

The Citation Flow is a data calculated by Majestic, it allows to evaluate the quantity of backlinks that the site receives. The more backlinks the site has, the higher its CF will be.

The ratio allows you to know if the site receives a lot of good quality links or if on the contrary, even if it receives a lot of links, they are not of quality which reduces your reputation with Google. It is a simple division of the TF by the CF. The lower the percentage, the lower the reputation with Google.

We also have a table that allows us to follow the evolution of the TF and the CF.

Your Backlinks

A backlink refers to the "incoming links" that "point" (i.e. make links) to the pages of your site.

Below the data of TF, CF, DA, etc...; you have 2 tables that summarize your backlinks:

  • The new/lost: on the selected period you have all your new backlinks as well as the backlinks that have been deleted

In this table you have the url of the backlink, its status (a green + if it is new and a red - if it is lost), the anchor of the link, the TF and CF of the page in question, the ratio and finally the follow or nofollow attribute of the link.

  • In the table on the right, you will have a selection of your best backlinks:

This is a list that you can export in excel format.

Now you know everything about the Netlinking report at your domain level. If you want to push the analysis by page, you can go directly through the action plan of the keyword in question associated with the page in question (more).
