How to interpret the opportunity score in SmartKeyword?

The opportunity score can be found in two different places: in the "my keywords" and the "keyword search" tab.

“My keywords"

Here, the opportunity score shows as a percentage how easy it is to work a keyword against your positioning goals.

The opportunity score is calculated from the search volume data, current position, and competition status on the first page of Google using a sophisticated algorithm developed by SmartKeyword.

  • Green: it's easy, go for it!

  • Orange: with a little work you'll get there!

  • Red: you can work on them later, they are not the priority.

Above the table, we give you your average opportunity score, meaning the average opportunity score of your keywords.

If you filter by keyword group, the average opportunity score will evolve according to the keywords present in this group.

"The Keyword Search"

Here, the opportunity score corresponds to the intensity of the AdWords advertising used on this keyword (raw data retrieved directly from AdWords). The higher the score, the more positive it is and the less competition there is on this keyword.

Warning:

Do not confuse the opportunity score of the keyword search with the opportunity score present on your "keywords".

Note : The two data sets are on the same scale: the higher the score, the more positive it is. 😊
