With SmartKeyword you can add keywords by category or by theme or by strategic priority in order to follow your positions on specific themes and niches. This document shows you how to group your keywords.
How to group your keywords ?
In your Excel sheet of keywords, create the columns :
Keyword (a word or a phrase)
Tag 1 (the main keyword category)
Tag 2 (the secondary category) - optional
To keep it simple
If there are no categories or themes, create at least two “tag 1” :
favorite (the priority keywords)
generic (the main keywords of your field of activity)
Going further
Grouping your keywords in sub-categories can be useful to follow your positions on niche themes.
Let's take the example of an e-commerce site that sells beauty products that we'll call beauty.com. It's recommended to structure their list of keywords by category, then sub-category n-1 as follows:
For this e-commerce site, it's best to include the product brands and product names of these brands in a tag 1 "brands" and tag 2 "brands / <brand name>".
Note that a keyword can be present in several tags 1 and tags 2 or not have a tag 2.
For example, the keyword "effaclar duo" will be in the category "brands" and in the category "face".
