SmartKeyword tells you everything about Page Authority

The Page Authority, also known as PA is a measure developed by Moz.com. As a partner, SmartKeyword gives you access to it.

On a scale of 1 to 100, it gives you the strength of a page of a given site, to appear in the first Google results.

The calculation of Page Authority is mostly a comparative measure based on Google top 10 results to assess the strength of a page for a given keyword search. However there is no good or bad score of Page Authority.

This indicator reveals the effectiveness of your page’s content and structure. It will analyze the quality of the page’s content, the way it is written, its formatting and the organization of links to other content.

A good Page Authority is a score close to 100. If it is easy to increase your score from 20 to 30, it is much more complicated to increase your PA from 70 to 80.

How is the page authority calculated?

Just like it does for the Domain Authority, Moz takes into account many criteria to define a Page Authority for each page of your site. For this calculation, here are some examples:

  • the quantity and quality of outbound and inbound links

  • the quality of anchors

  • the traffic related to the page

  • the behavior of the readers

  • keyword density

How to improve it for SEO ?

  • improve the content of your page by optimizing its title/meta content ...

  • off-page: pay attention to off-page SEO optimizations. Before setting up incoming links on your page, check the referring sites’ Domain Authority and the theme you are interested in (it must be the same as your site). The quality of the links is very important, and if the site has a good visibility on the internet, your page will have more chances to increase its PA.

Actions to implement

Create a large number of external and internal links, which point to your page with an optimized anchor.

The exchange and sale of links on the Internet are frequently used by bloggers to achieve this goal.

When exchanging links, determine the site’s DA you want to exchange links with, because if the site has a strong Domain Authority, your page will have more chances to get a higher rating.

Take into account the user experience on your page and website. The pages viewed by visitors, the bounce rate and the time spent by the reader on your page are all criteria taken into account to rate the authority of your web page.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Buying traffic on the internet harms SEO and renders analysis tools irrelevant.

  • Registering on several directories can be a good start, but the backlinks will not be of good quality. (not in the theme)
