The difference between estimated SEO traffic and real traffic can be a little confusing.

Many of you ask us why your traffic does not increase when you add new pages, or worse, appears as null. We give you possible reasons.

Real traffic vs. estimated traffic

When you recently added pages, there are several things to check before getting alarmed about your traffic volumes.

1/ Go check your Search Console

If you just added pages, Google may not have gone over them to index them yet . Two simple methods to find out:

  • type for each page: “site: url_of_the_page” in google and see if it comes up. If not, you can ask Google to index them via the search console.

  • if you don't want to do it page by page, you can look at the tab "Google Index / Indexing status", and see if new pages have been taken into account recently

2/ Check your positions on your new keywords for these pages

If you are not on the 1st page yet, then it’s normal that you have no estimated traffic. A keyword only brings you traffic if you are on the 1st page...hard reality!

It's terrible but that's how it is, it can take a few weeks before you reach the Holy Grail, so you have to accept to go first to the 3rd page, then to the 2nd, then to the bottom of the 1st, etc... :)

3/ Check the search volume of the optimized keywords

The keywords you targeted on your pages may have a zero search volume, in which case it is normal that it does not generate traffic.

But don't panic, it doesn't mean that there is no real traffic, because the "local" keywords for example still generate traffic on Google.

4/ Be patient and especially check that your positions are improving, to continue to improve these new pages regularly

It’s normal if the results of your work are not immediately visible.

SEO takes time and it takes weeks/months rather than days to see the evolution, you must be patient. :)
